* The Health Sector Climate Pledge was launched on Earth Day in 2022 by the White House and Department of Health and Human Services. This voluntary commitment encourages private sector healthcare organizations to prioritize climate resilience and emissions reductions. As part of this pledge, companies commit to:
- Reduce their GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050;
- Conduct a GHG emissions inventory including Scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions within six months of signing; and
- Develop and release a climate resilience plan to address climate-related risks for groups in their communities.
